Gary John Bacon is the new Grand Master of Queensland

Brisbane, Australia. Dr. Gary John Bacon became the 28th Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of Queensland, after he was installed in office on 6 July 2013.



The Grand Master graduated from the University of Queensland (Brisbane) and Australian National University (Canberra), is the author of several scientific publications and worked in the Queensland Forestry Department and New South Wales Forestry Commission.



Gary Bacon was initiated in Tibrogargan Lodge in 1973 and in 2000 he became a member of Triple Tau Chapter. In his speech at the installation, the Grand Master said among other things, that wants to change the motto Audi Vide Tace in Audi Vide Clamo (Shout) for it is more appropriate for our times.

The way in which he addresses the realities of Freemasonry the new Grand Master shows that he is a visionary, a mandatory feature of every Freemason of today and tomorrow. Other projects of him include the establishment of a University Lodge.

Freemasonry donated hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity

London, United Kingdom. Recently, British Freemasonry has donated over a million pounds for charity. The Royal London Hospital has received £ 500,000 from the Metropolitan Grand Lodge of London for medical equipment that can save human lives.


Other £ 35,000 were donated by UGLE's charity fund to the Red Cross for the recent floods in India. In addition, £ 150,000 ware donated to the Institute for Cancer Research.


Grand Master of Chile understands the protests of the students in the country, but disagrees with how they protest


Santiago, Chile. The Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Chile stated that he does not share the form in which students protest, but he shares their frustration. Former Rector of the University of Chile, Luis Riveros Cornejo said in the context of student protests in the country, that "the worst thing that can happen to a country is that young people do not have dreams and ambitions."


Freemasonry revived in Egypt: Sovereign Grand Lodge of Egypt

Cairo, Egypt. Even though Egypt is facing one of the worst political crises and the democratic spirit of the people is encountering dictatorial intentions, Freemasonry revived in Egypt. The Sovereign Grand Lodge of Egypt was born on June 24, 2013, being the youngest of the world's Grand Lodges. The new Masonic organization is headed by Grand Master M. F.

Bucharest, Romania. From 5 to 9 July 2013 takes place the most important national Masonic meeting in Brazil. The event brings together all 27 Brazilian Grand Lodges and representatives and leaders of the Supreme Council of Brazil and of the Grand Orient of Brazil.


The General Assembly of the Confederation of Symbolic Masonry of Brazil officially opens today and will start tomorrow with the administrative sessions.


July 4, a historic and Masonic event

Washington, United States of America. Today marks 237 years since the founding of the United States. The event has a double meaning: a historical and a Masonic one. Many of the signers of the Declaration of Independence were Freemasons. The first President of the United States was also a Freemason. Given this, the event is marked symbolically by Freemasons throughout the U.S..


Radu Vasile, former Premier of Romania, died at age 71

Bucharest, Romania. Brother Radu Vasile, 33° led the Romanian Government in the period April 1998 - December 1999. Secretary-General of one of the two historical parties reborn after the fall of communism, he was Senator and Vice President of the Senate. Also, Radu Vasile was Professor at the Academy of Economic Studies.
